Transport Planning Professional Qualification

The Institution of Highways & Transportation (IHT) has formed a partnership with the Transport Planning Society (TPS) to provide a professional qualification for transport planners – the Transport Planning Professional (TPP).

The TPP qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for Transport Planning developed by GoSkills and TPS and provides professional recognition for transport planners at a level that equates to that of Chartered Engineer.

Candidates for the TPP will need to demonstrate an appreciation of a broad range of transport planning procedures and techniques, and a competence to work in some of these.

The TPP is open to IHT and TPS members and first assessments will be held in June 2008.
