Mike Sharpe MSc CEng FIHT FICE FRSA MCMI President 2004-2005
Mike started his professional career working as a Consultant. He then spent 27 years with a variety of Local Highway Authorities, the last five of which were as Director of Transportation with Cambridgeshire County Council.
Much of his local government career was spent in the transportation sector, with Cumbria, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Cambridgeshire County Councils and Fife Regional Council.
Mike now heads the eastern regional office of TPi Ltd, working in the fields of best value, procurement, partnering, audit and organisational development.
Mike has chaired both IHT's Network and Infrastructure Management Board, and the former Training and Development Board. He was closely involved with securing the Institution’s ability to register Chartered and Incorporated Engineers with the Engineering Council. He played an active part in the preparation of the IHT Guidelines for Cycle Audit and Cycle Review, and with the Guidelines for Providing for Journeys on Foot.
He remains an active Committee member of the East Midland Branch, where he has served as Chair and Secretary.
