Competitions are normally held within individual branches and the winners of these are forward to regional heats.   Each individual Branch publicises the competition and decides which entry should be entered into the Regional Competition. It is up to each branch to decide who should be put through to the Regional Final.

The winner from each Regional competition receives a small monetary award (£75) and an engraved fountain pen - both to be presented by a Colas representative at a regular Branch meeting.

At the regional finals each Branch entrant will be asked to give a PowerPoint presentation on a subject of their choice linked to the industry/transport infrastructure. The presentation should last no longer than 15 minutes, with a further 10 minutes allocated to answer questions.

A national final will then be held to find the overall winner.    Full details will be notified to finalists in good time.   The finalists will have the choice of selecting a different topic for their presentation or using the same subject matter with the addition of new and updated material.

The prize for the winner will be an all expenses paid trip to visit the Central Research Laboratory of the International Colas Group in Paris. All entrants attending the final will each receive a cheque to the value of £100 (funded by Colas Ltd).
